Natchez Trace Recap

Now that we've arrived in Nashville and are able to relax for a bit before the next leg of our adventure, we wanted to share a few thoughts about our walk on the Natchez Trace.

First, some quick statistics from our walk to date:
- We have walked 458 miles in 34 days.
- 10 of those days were rainy.
- We have consumed 31 ounces of hot sauce.
- We had 8 unsolicited offers for rides.
- We hitchhiked once for 40 miles.
- We spent 7 nights in a hotel or home.
- We used one gallon of stove fuel (quite the efficient MPG!).

We wanted to share what we think was our greatest lesson of our trip. We were met with such kindness and generosity on our trip, largely from strangers. We are so grateful for these interactions, and it made us think more about how we interact with people that we don't know. This experience has made us realize the importance of practicing intentional kindness, specifically towards strangers. It is important to seek out opportunities to be kind and generous, rather than just sitting back.
