We took a bus into the city and walked from downtown through the French Quarter in rainy weather to our friend Tricia's house in the Bywater. For dinner we went to Frenchman Street and ate alligator sausage po boys and watched live music featuring Chaz on the washboard - amazing!
On a side note, we definitely stood out with our packs but in a good way. Lots of folks were curious about where we are from and where we are going. Lots of good conversation with friendly people- hopefully a sign of things to come.

Yea! The Giddenez in NOLA! I'm glad to see y'all got smart phones, so you can load up lots of pictures. Watch out for armadillos, they carry leprosy!!!
